Overview

The CALIPER [OKI] is a high-performance hydraulic disc brake caliper assembly engineered specifically for OKI electric scooters, e-bikes, and compatible light electric vehicles (LEVs). Installed directly on the front or rear fork/swingarm mounting plate, it houses dual-acting hydraulic pistons and high-friction brake pads to clamp firmly against the spinning disc rotor upon brake lever actuation.

Constructed from heavy-duty die-cast aluminum alloy with anti-corrosion surface plating, this OKI -style caliper dissipates thermal energy rapidly during repeated deceleration, preventing brake fade and fluid boiling. Operating independently across 12V to 60V DC electric vehicle architectures, it connects directly into standard hydraulic hose lines and banjo fittings to deliver quiet, fade-resistant, and responsive stopping power in all weather conditions.

Key Features

OKI-Specific Fitment Profile: Engineered to match OEM mounting hole spacing and offset dimensions on OKI electric scooters.

Dual Hydraulic Piston Clamping: High-pressure piston configuration translates fluid displacement into instant, balanced pad pressure against the rotor disc.

High-Strength Aluminum Housing: Rigid die-cast alloy construction resists casing flex and high hydraulic pressure spikes under hard braking.

Pre-Installed Friction Pads: Equipped with a pre-assembled set of organic/composite brake pads for immediate drop-in replacement.

Weather-Sealed Piston Assembly: Rubber dust boots shield internal pistons and fluid seals from rain, mud, grit, and road grime.

Suitable applications

Suitable Vehicle Types & Applications

  • OKI Electric Scooters: Direct OEM replacement for Okinawa Praise, PraisePro, iPraise+, Ridge+, and Praise-series hydraulic disc brake setups.
  • E-Bikes & Light LEVs: Heavy-duty front or rear hydraulic caliper replacement for compatible 48V–60V electric two-wheelers.
  • Personal & Fleet Repairs: Essential replacement unit for seized, leaking, or unevenly wearing Okinawa-style calipers.

System & Electrical Compatibility

  • Universal Hydraulic Master Cylinders: Fully compatible with standard EV hydraulic master cylinders and matching rotor discs using banjo fittings.
  • Wide EV Sub-Circuits: Operates independently of electrical system voltage across 12V to 60V DC vehicle platforms.

How to use

1. Isolate Power & Remove Damaged Caliper:

Turn off key ignition, trip the main DC circuit breaker, and place a fluid catch tray under the target wheel. Unbolt the hydraulic banjo bolt from the old caliper, allow fluid to drain, and unbolt the caliper body from the mounting bracket.

Verification: Vehicle is unpowered and the old caliper is removed with zero residual line pressure.

2. Mount New OKI Caliper to Frame Bracket:

Position the CALIPER [OKI] over the disc rotor, aligning its mounting holes with the fork/swingarm bracket. Insert mounting bolts and torque to manufacturer specification.

Verification: The caliper sits completely centered over the brake rotor without rubbing against wheel rim or spokes.

3. Connect Hydraulic Line with New Washers:

Attach the hydraulic line banjo fitting to the caliper fluid port using fresh copper crush washers on both sides of the banjo bolt. Tighten securely.

Verification: Banjo fitting sits flush with copper washers compressed evenly to create a hermetic seal.

4. Bleed Hydraulic System & Verify Pressure:

Fill the master cylinder reservoir with fresh DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid. Open the caliper bleed valve and pump the handlebar brake lever until all air bubbles are purged and fluid flows solid. Tighten bleed valve and check lever firmness.

Verification: Squeezing the brake lever yields immediate, firm resistance with zero spongy lever feel and no fluid leaks around banjo fittings.

Care and maintenance

Power Isolation: Always turn off ignition, trip the main DC circuit breaker, and secure the vehicle before performing hydraulic brake maintenance.

Pad Wear Inspection: Regularly check pre-installed brake pad thickness through the caliper inspection slot; replace pads when lining wears below 1.5mm.

Piston & Seal Cleaning: Clean the caliper body and dust boots periodically using dedicated brake cleaner spray to clear accumulated road mud and brake dust.

Questions & answers

What is the primary function of the CALIPER [OKI]?

It hydraulically squeezes friction pads against the spinning disc rotor to decelerate and stop the electric vehicle.

Which electric scooter brands are compatible with this caliper?

It is designed specifically as an OEM replacement for Okinawa electric scooters (Praise, Ridge series) and compatible LEV platforms.

Does the caliper come with brake pads pre-installed?

Yes, it includes a pre-assembled set of high-friction disc brake pads ready for immediate installation.

What brake fluid grade should be used with this unit?

It is fully compatible with standard DOT3 and DOT4 hydraulic brake fluids.

Can this caliper be used for both front and rear disc setups?

Yes, provided the mounting plate hole spacing matches the Okinawa-style caliper bracket.

Why is bleeding necessary after installing a new caliper?

Bleeding purges trapped air bubbles from hydraulic lines and piston chambers; compressed air in the line causes a spongy, dangerous lever feel.
