Overview

The CALIPER [FRONT RIGHT] is a precision-engineered hydraulic disc brake caliper replacement assembly designed for electric scooters, e-bikes, mopeds, and light commercial electric vehicles (LEVs). Installed on the front-right fork leg, it houses dual-acting hydraulic pistons and friction pads to deliver controlled clamping force against the spinning front brake disc rotor.

Constructed from high-strength die-cast aluminum alloy with anti-corrosion surface plating, this caliper resists high thermal stress, pressure spikes, and mechanical distortion under hard emergency braking. Operating independently across 12V to 60V DC vehicle architectures, it connects directly to standard front hydraulic hose lines and banjo fittings to provide whisper-quiet, fade-resistant stopping performance in both wet and dry riding conditions.

Key Features

Precision Right-Side Orientation: Specifically configured for front-right fork leg mounting and hydraulic hose alignment on electric two-wheelers.

High-Clamping Hydraulic Pistons: Internal piston assembly multiplies hydraulic fluid pressure into instant, smooth pad contact against the rotor.

Durable Alloy Construction: Heavy-duty aluminum alloy housing dissipates heat rapidly to prevent fluid boiling and brake fade.

Pre-Fitted High-Friction Pads: Includes pre-installed organic/composite disc brake pads for immediate drop-in replacement.

Weather & Corrosion Protection: Sealed piston seals and protective surface coating shield against dust, rain, and road wash.

Suitable applications

Suitable Vehicle Types & Applications

  • Electric Scooters & Mopeds: Primary front-right hydraulic disc caliper replacement for 48V–60V high-speed e-scooters.
  • E-Bikes & Cargo LEVs: Heavy-duty replacement brake caliper for electric bicycles and light commercial transport veicles.
  • Personal & Fleet Repairs: Essential replacement for seized, leaking, or unevenly wearing front hydraulic calipers.

System & Electrical Compatibility

  • Universal Hydraulic Master Cylinders: Fully compatible with standard front hydraulic master cylinders and rotor discs using banjo fittings.
  • Wide EV Sub-Circuits: Operates independently of electrical system voltage across 12V to 60V DC vehicle platforms.

How to use

1. Isolate Power & Remove Damaged Caliper:

Turn off key ignition, trip the main DC circuit breaker, and place a fluid catch tray under the front wheel. Unbolt the hydraulic banjo line from the old caliper, allow fluid to drain, and unbolt the caliper from the fork mounting bracket.

Verification: Vehicle is completely unpowered and legacy caliper is removed with zero line pressure.

2. Mount New Front Right Caliper to Fork:

Position the CALIPER [FRONT RIGHT] over the brake disc rotor, aligning its mounting holes with the front-right fork bracket. Insert retaining bolts and torque firmly.

Verification: The caliper sits centered over the brake disc without binding or touching the wheel spokes.

3. Connect Hydraulic Line with New Washers:

Attach the front hydraulic hose banjo fitting to the caliper fluid port using new copper crush washers on both sides of the banjo bolt. Tighten to specification.

Verification: Banjo fitting sits flush with copper crush washers compressed evenly.

4. Bleed Air & Verify Hydraulic Pressure:

Top off master cylinder with fresh DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid. Open the caliper bleed valve and pump the handlebar lever until all air bubbles are purged and fluid flows solid. Tighten bleed valve and check lever feel.

Verification: Squeezing the brake lever results in immediate, firm resistance with zero sponge feel and no fluid leaks.

Care and maintenance

Power Isolation: Always turn off ignition, trip the main DC circuit breaker, and secure the vehicle before servicing hydraulic brake hardware.

Pad Wear Inspection: Regularly check pre-installed brake pad thickness through the caliper viewing slot; replace pads when lining wears down below 1.5mm.

Piston & Seal Cleaning: Keep the caliper body and piston dust boots free from road mud and brake dust using dedicated brake cleaner spray.

Questions & answers

What is the primary function of the CALIPER [FRONT RIGHT]?

It hydraulically squeezes friction pads against the front disc rotor to slow down and stop the vehicle.

Which wheel side is this caliper designed for?

It is engineered specifically for mounting on the front-right side of the front fork assembly.

Does the caliper come with brake pads included?

Yes, it comes complete with a pre-installed set of high-friction disc brake pads.

What type of brake fluid should be used with this caliper?

It is fully compatible with standard DOT3 and DOT4 hydraulic brake fluids.

Which vehicles are compatible with this front right caliper?

It is compatible with various electric scooters, mopeds, e-bikes, and light EVs equipped with front-right disc brake systems.

Why is bleeding necessary after installing a new caliper?

Bleeding purges trapped air from the hydraulic line and caliper body; air compresses under pressure and causes a soft, dangerous lever feel.
