1. Isolate Power & Prepare Panel Cutout:

Turn off the vehicle ignition switch, trip the main circuit breaker, and unplug all power cords. Prepare a standard rectangular panel cutout on the charger housing or vehicle body panel.

Verification: Confirm with a multimeter that no live voltage is present across the target connection wires.

2. Mount IEC Socket to Panel:

Pass the pre-wired leads through the panel cutout and push the IEC connector firmly into place until the mounting tabs lock onto the panel surface (or secure with mounting screws if applicable).

Verification: The connector sits completely flush against the outer panel surface without loose wobble or movement.

3. Connect Pre-Wired Leads:

Splice or plug the pre-wired copper leads into the corresponding input terminals of the onboard charger or power loop (Line, Neutral, and Ground for AC; Positive and Negative for DC).

Verification: All wire splices are firmly crimped and fully insulated with heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape with zero bare copper exposed.

4. Reconnect Power & Perform Charging Test:

Reconnect the main battery leads, reset the circuit breaker, and insert a standard IEC power cord into the newly installed socket.

Verification: Charging power transfers continuously without flickering, loose connection breaks, or excessive plug heating.

Power Isolation: Always trip the main circuit breaker and unplug the power cord before inspecting or cleaning the input connector.

Terminal Pin Cleaning: Periodically check the internal pin contacts for dust, corrosion, or oxidation; clean using an electrical contact cleaner spray or dry cotton swab.

Wire Insulation Check: Inspect the pre-wired lead insulation regularly to ensure wires remain free from chafing, heat damage, or tight bends.
