Overview
SWITCH [LT NEW]
Overview & Description
The SWITCH [LT NEW] is a high-reliability handlebar light selector switch engineered specifically for modern electric two-wheelers, e-scooters, and commercial e-rickshaws. Designed as an upgraded primary control module, this unit enables riders to seamlessly switch main headlamps and auxiliary running lights on or off across standard 12V to 60V DC vehicle power lines.
Constructed with an impact-resistant ABS plastic housing and heavy-duty copper alloy contacts, the switch is built to withstand continuous daily toggling and harsh outdoor environmental conditions. Its streamlined, contemporary body integrates directly into modern 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar switch clusters, restoring crisp tactile feedback and dependable lighting control for everyday commuting and commercial transport.
Key Features
- Positive Toggle Action: Tactile engagement mechanism ensures smooth switching between light power states without loose play or accidental toggling.
- Modern Handlebar Fitment: Compact casing styled to integrate flush into modern e-scooter and e-rickshaw handlebar control panels.
- High-Conductivity Copper Terminals: Low-resistance internal copper contacts prevent voltage drops and deliver full current directly to LED or halogen light fixtures.
- Wide Operating Range: Fully compatible with auxiliary lighting circuits powered from 12V DC up to 60V DC.
- Weather-Resistant Housing: Sealed ABS casing guards internal electrical contact points against rain, road spray, dust, and continuous vehicle vibration.

How to use
1. Isolate Auxiliary Power & Open Handlebar Cover:
Turn off the key ignition, trip the main DC breaker, and disconnect the main battery pack leads. Unfasten the retaining screws securing the handlebar fairing to access the internal switch housing and wiring harness.
Verification: Vehicle cluster lights and auxiliary circuits remain completely unpowered when toggling controls.
2. Disconnect Legacy Light Switch:
Unplug the old light switch terminals from the vehicle harness. Depress the side retaining tabs or unfasten the mounting clips to pull the switch module out of the 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar panel slot.
Verification: The switch releases smoothly without cracking or damaging the surrounding plastic fairing tabs.
3. Seat & Wire SWITCH [LT NEW]:
Press the SWITCH [LT NEW] unit into the 22mm handlebar panel opening until it snaps securely into place. Connect the pre-wired copper terminal leads to the vehicle master lighting loop:
Power Input Lead: Connect to the +12V–60V DC feed wire originating from the auxiliary power loop or DC-DC converter output.
Lighting Output Lead: Connect to the main headlight/auxiliary light feed harness.
Verification: Wiring connectors fit firmly and are thoroughly insulated with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing without exposing bare copper wire.
4. Reconnect Power & Test Lighting Operation:
Reconnect the battery pack, reset the main breaker, and turn the ignition key ON. Toggle the light switch on and off to verify functional engagement.
Verification: The headlamps and auxiliary lights turn on immediately in the ON position and shut off completely when switched to OFF.
Care and maintenance
Power Isolation: Always switch off the key ignition, trip the main DC breaker, and disconnect the battery pack before performing any switch maintenance to eliminate arcing or short-circuit hazards.
Housing Inspection: Periodically check the weather-resistant ABS casing for cracks, loose mounting, or wear to prevent water ingress and preserve positive switch positioning.
Terminal Integrity: Inspect the pre-wired copper leads regularly to ensure tight connections, intact wire insulation, and total freedom from corrosion or moisture build-up.
Lighting Verification: Cycle the master light switch periodically to confirm clean contact engagement, zero voltage drop, and immediate power output to connected light fixtures.
