Overview
The SWITCH [DIM-NEW] is a high-precision, 2-position headlight beam selector switch engineered specifically for modern electric two-wheelers, e-scooters, and commercial e-rickshaws. Designed as an upgraded replacement for handlebar lighting controls, this module allows riders to seamlessly toggle between high beam and low beam modes across standard 12V to 60V DC vehicle power lines.
Constructed with an impact-resistant ABS plastic housing and low-resistance copper alloy contacts, the switch is built to endure continuous daily toggling and harsh outdoor environmental exposure. Its sleek, contemporary design integrates directly into modern 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar switch clusters, restoring clean tactile feedback and dependable illumination control for safe night riding.
Key Features
- 2-Position Beam Selector: Dual-position High Beam / Low Beam toggle mechanism with distinct detent feedback to ensure positive engagement.
- Modern Handlebar Fitment: Streamlined profile tailored to fit updated e-scooter and e-rickshaw handlebar control panels without panel modification.
- High-Conductivity Copper Terminals: Heavy-duty internal copper contacts minimize voltage drop, delivering maximum current directly to high-power LED or halogen headlight systems.
- Wide Voltage Compatibility: Fully operational across auxiliary lighting circuits operating from 12V DC up to 60V DC.
- Weather-Resistant Build: Encased in a splash-proof ABS outer shell to shield internal contacts from rain, dust, and continuous road vibration.

- Universal 3-Wire Lighting Circuits: Connects directly into standard 3-wire headlight setups (Common Power Input, Low Beam Output, and High Beam Output).
- Modern Handlebar Panel Cut-Outs: Contoured clip-in casing engineered for direct fitment in modern 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar switch housings.
How to use
1. Isolate Power & Access Handlebar Enclosure:
Turn off the key ignition, trip the main DC circuit breaker, and disconnect the main battery pack terminals. Unfasten the retaining screws on the handlebar fairing to expose the inner switch housing and wiring harness.
Verification: The vehicle's instrument cluster, headlight, and horn remain completely unpowered when toggling controls.
2. Remove Legacy Headlight Switch:
Unplug the 3-pin wiring connector linking the old headlight switch to the vehicle harness. Depress the side plastic locking tabs or remove panel screws to pull the switch unit out of the 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar panel slot.
Verification: The switch detaches smoothly from the fairing without cracking the surrounding plastic mounting tabs.
3. Seat & Wire SWITCH [DIM-NEW]:
Press the SWITCH [DIM-NEW] module firmly into the 22mm handlebar panel opening until it snaps securely into place. Connect the three integrated copper terminal leads to the vehicle lighting circuit:
Main Power Feed Lead: Connect to the +12V–60V DC positive power input originating from the main light switch or DC-DC converter output.
Low Beam Output Lead: Connect to the low beam headlight circuit lead.
High Beam Output Lead: Connect to the high beam headlight circuit lead.
Verification: Terminals fit snugly, and all copper wire connections are fully covered with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing.
4. Reconnect Power & Test High/Low Beams:
Reconnect the battery pack, reset the circuit breaker, and turn the key ignition to ON. Turn on the main lights and switch between the two toggle positions to check illumination.
Verification: Toggling to the Low Beam position illuminates the low beam light, and toggling to High Beam instantly shifts illumination to the high beam headlight bulb or LED array.
Care and maintenance
Power Isolation: Always switch off the main key ignition, trip the primary circuit breaker, and completely disconnect the battery pack before servicing any switch wiring to avoid electrical short circuits.
Housing Inspection: Periodically check the weather-resistant ABS body and toggle lever for cracks or wear to prevent water ingress and preserve positive high/low detent positioning.
Terminal Integrity: Inspect the three pre-wired copper terminal leads regularly to ensure tight connections, continuous insulation coverage, and total freedom from corrosion or moisture build-up.
Lighting Verification: Cycle through high and low beam settings periodically to confirm clean contact engagement, zero voltage drop, and immediate illumination across both headlight circuits.
