Overview
The SWITCH [LT-OLD / LIGHT] (053d) is a high-durability, manual light toggle switch engineered specifically for classic electric two-wheelers, vintage e-bikes, and e-rickshaws. Designed to function as the primary ON/OFF control for vehicle lighting circuits, this unit allows riders to easily regulate main headlights, tail lamps, and auxiliary runner lights across 12V to 60V DC onboard power lines.
Constructed with an impact-resistant ABS outer housing and heavy-duty copper alloy internal contacts, the 053d model ensures dependable electrical engagement even under frequent daily switching, road vibration, and outdoor exposure. Its vintage profile serves as a direct drop-in replacement for worn-out or damaged factory light switches in standard 22mm (7/8-inch) retro handlebar housings.
Key Features
Legacy Handlebar Profile: Tailored specifically to fit vintage e-scooter and e-rickshaw handlebar control panels without modification.
Primary Light Control: Smooth toggle mechanism provides clear, tactile feedback for switching main headlights and position lights ON or OFF.
High-Conductivity Terminals: Internally routed copper alloy contacts minimize power loss and heat generation across light sub-circuits.
Wide Voltage Range: Seamlessly manages auxiliary power lines operating between 12V DC and 60V DC.
Weather-Resistant Build: Encased in a splash-proof ABS shell designed to resist moisture, dust accumulation, and plastic degradation over time.

How to use
1. Isolate Vehicle Auxiliary Power:
Turn off the main key ignition, trip the primary circuit breaker, and disconnect the main battery pack terminals. Remove the screws securing the front handlebar fairing to open the inner switch enclosure and expose the wiring loom.
Verification: The vehicle instrument cluster and auxiliary lamps remain fully unpowered when operating control switches.
2. Disconnect Old Light Switch:
Unplug the old switch leads from the vehicle lighting harness. Press the side retention tabs or unfasten the mounting screws to release the legacy toggle module from the handlebar panel cutout.
Verification: The legacy switch detaches cleanly without snapping or stress-cracking the plastic handlebar fairing tabs.
3. Mount & Wire SWITCH [LT-OLD / LIGHT]:
Snap or fasten the SWITCH [LT-OLD / LIGHT] (053d) into the handlebar housing slot until firmly seated. Connect the two integrated copper leads to the corresponding vehicle light feed:
Input Lead: Connect to the +12V–60V DC feed wire coming from the main ignition or lighting relay loop.
Output Lead: Connect to the primary line leading to the headlight/tail light assembly.
Verification: Connectors are fully seated and completely insulated with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing without exposing bare copper wire.
4. Reconnect Battery & Perform Functional Test:
Reconnect the battery pack leads, reset the main breaker, and turn the key ignition ON. Toggle the 053d switch between the ON and OFF positions to check light operation.
Verification: The headlight and tail lights illuminate immediately when toggled ON and shut off completely without flickering when toggled OFF.
Care and maintenance
Power Isolation: Always switch off the vehicle ignition, open the main circuit breaker, and disconnect the primary battery pack before carrying out physical checks.
Housing Inspection: Periodically check the weather-resistant ABS housing for structural cracks, loose mounting clips, or moisture ingress to protect internal contacts.
Terminal Integrity: Inspect the pre-wired copper terminal leads regularly to ensure tight connections, continuous wire insulation, and absence of corrosion or road grime.
