Overview
The SWITCH [DIM-OLD] is a heavy-duty, manual toggle/push selector switch designed specifically for legacy electric scooters, vintage e-bikes, and classic e-rickshaw handlebar control clusters. Engineered to seamlessly control low-beam and high-beam headlight functions, this component restores crisp, dependable electrical contact for 12V to 60V DC vehicle lighting systems.
Built with an impact-resistant ABS plastic housing and high-conductivity copper alloy internal contacts, the 053b switch withstands frequent daily actuation, outdoor weather exposure, and continuous handlebar vibration. Its traditional retro-contoured profile integrates smoothly into standard 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar switch housings without requiring modifications to the original wiring harness.
Key Features
Legacy Handlebar Integration: Retro-styled switch body designed for direct drop-in replacement in vintage e-scooter and e-rickshaw lighting control clusters.
Dual-State Lighting Control: Smooth mechanical action allows effortless toggling between low-beam and high-beam headlight settings.
High-Conductivity Terminals: Internally routed copper alloy contacts provide low electrical resistance and reliable current transfer for auxiliary lighting sub-circuits.
Wide Voltage Range: Compatible with standard DC auxiliary power systems operating between 12V and 60V DC.
Weather-Resistant Housing: Constructed with a rugged, splash-proof ABS plastic outer shell to protect internal components against dust and moisture.

How to use
1. Isolate Vehicle Power & Expose Wiring:
Turn off the ignition switch, open the main breaker, and disconnect the traction battery pack leads. Unfasten the screws securing the front handlebar cover/fairing to expose the inner switch cluster harness.
Verification: Vehicle speedometer display and headlight remain fully unpowered when toggling any control.
2. Remove Legacy Dimmer Switch:
Disconnect the 3-pin wiring harness from the original headlight switch. Carefully press the side plastic retaining clips to pop the old switch out of the 22mm (7/8-inch) handlebar panel slot.
Verification: The switch housing detaches cleanly from the handlebar fairing without cracking the surrounding plastic shroud.
3. Wire & Seat SWITCH [DIM-OLD]:
Snap the SWITCH [DIM-OLD] (053b) into the handlebar cut-out until secured. Connect the three integrated copper wire leads to the corresponding terminals on the main vehicle harness:
Power Lead (Input): Connect to the +12V–60V DC line coming from the headlamp power relay/switch feed.
Low-Beam Lead (Output 1): Connect to the low-beam headlight terminal.
High-Beam Lead (Output 2): Connect to the high-beam headlight terminal.
Verification: Connectors fit tightly, and all exposed metal spade terminals are insulated with heat-shrink tubing or electrical tape.
4. Reconnect Power & Test Beam Functionality:
Reconnect the main battery, reset the breaker, and turn the ignition switch ON. Toggle the 053b switch between both positions to verify beam switching.
Verification: Flipping to Low Beam illuminates the standard beam; flipping to High Beam instantly switches to the secondary high-intensity beam without flickering or loss of connection.
Care and maintenance
Power Isolation: Switch off the ignition key, open the primary circuit breaker, and disconnect the battery pack before inspecting headlight wiring.
Casing Integrity: Inspect the ABS plastic body and toggle lever for cracks or gaps to prevent moisture intrusion into internal switch contacts.
Terminal Check: Regularly check the 3-pin copper alloy terminal connections to ensure they remain tightly fastened and free of corrosion.
