1. Isolate System Power & Access Mounting Location:

Turn off the vehicle ignition, disconnect the main battery pack, and trip the main circuit breaker. Locate the primary horn mounting point near the front fork assembly, steering neck, or within the front fairing shroud.

Verification: Vehicle dashboard and electronics remain off, and the mounting bracket surface is clean and accessible.

2. Secure the Premium Horn Assembly:

Position the steel mounting tab of the HORN IMPORTED PREMIUM WITH BOX (046d) against the vehicle chassis bracket. Fasten it tightly using a suitable bolt and lock washer to prevent movement caused by road vibrations.

Verification: The horn is firmly anchored to the frame, does not rattle, and has sufficient clearance from surrounding steering cables or moving fork parts.

3. Connect 12V DC Auxiliary Wiring:

Connect the two leads from the vehicle's 12V switched horn harness to the male spade terminals on the back of the horn unit using insulated female spade connectors:

Positive Lead (+12V): Connects to the switched line from the DC-DC converter and horn button.

Ground Lead (GND): Connects to the return ground circuit.

(Note: Electromagnetic horn terminals are non-polar; either terminal accepts the positive or ground lead).

Verification: Terminals fit snugly over the pins without loose play or bare wire exposures.

4. Reconnect Power & Test Tone Output:

Reconnect the main traction battery and turn the vehicle ignition switch back ON. Depress the handlebar horn button to test the acoustic signal.

Verification: The horn delivers a crisp, clear, high-decibel alert tone instantly upon pressing the button and cuts off immediately upon release.

Exterior Cleaning: Clean the horn casing and bracket tab periodically using a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to clear away dirt, road grime, and mud splatter. Avoid using high-pressure water streams directly into the horn's acoustic sound projection opening.

Mounting Security: Periodically inspect the chassis mounting bolt and lock washer. Tighten if necessary to prevent looseness caused by continuous engine and road vibrations.

Terminal Integrity: Check the dual male spade terminals for signs of corrosion, oxidation, or moisture buildup, ensuring female wiring harness boots remain securely attached and well-insulated.
