Overview

The TROTL [JANX SINGLE] is a high-performance, precision-engineered hand-twist throttle designed for accurate speed regulation and smooth acceleration on electric vehicles. Built for reliable daily operation, this compact throttle unit features an ergonomic, anti-slip hand grip that minimizes rider fatigue during long commutes and heavy-duty use.

At its core, the unit utilizes a contact-free magnetic Hall-effect sensor to deliver steady, linear signal output with minimal internal friction. Featuring an expansive system voltage range supporting 24V through 72V DC, robust construction, and standard 3-pin wiring compatibility, the JANX Single Throttle is an ideal choice for light commercial vehicles, urban commuter e-bikes, and custom EV retrofits.

Key Features

Wide Voltage Compatibility: Supports 24V, 36V, 48V, 60V, and 72V DC battery and controller logic architectures.

Non-Contact Hall-Effect Sensor: Provides smooth, linear signal modulation (0.8V–4.2V output) with reduced physical wear and long operational life.

Ergonomic Anti-Slip Grip: Textured surface design ensures firm handling, precise acceleration control, and comfort during extended rides.

Durable Construction: Manufactured with impact-resistant materials to withstand daily vibrations and outdoor operating conditions.

Easy Plug-and-Play Setup: Standard 3-pin configuration enables quick integration with universal BLDC motor controllers.

Suitable applications

Suitable Vehicle Types & Applications

Electric Bicycles (E-Bikes): Enhances control over speed and acceleration for a smoother, comfortable urban or off-road ride.

Electric Scooters (E-Scooters): Delivers precise throttle response, improving handling and maneuverability in dense traffic environments.

Light Electric Tricycles & Utility Vehicles: Provides stable, adjustable speed control capable of managing varying cargo loads.

Electric Rickshaws (E-Rickshaws): Ensures consistent, reliable acceleration critical for passenger safety and everyday commercial use.

System & Drivetrain Compatibility

Universal Voltage Support: Fully operational across 24V, 36V, 48V, 60V, and 72V DC traction battery and controller systems.

Standard Handlebar Fitment: Mounts on standard 22mm (7/8-inch) outer diameter handlebars.

Universal Controller Interface: Compatible with all standard BLDC motor controllers accepting 3-pin analog Hall-effect signal inputs (0.8V–4.2V).

How to use

1. Power Down Vehicle & Prep Handlebar:

Turn off the vehicle ignition, disconnect the main battery pack connection, and trip the primary circuit breaker. Remove any existing throttle assembly from the right handlebar, then thoroughly clean and wipe down the metal tube.

Verification: Vehicle power indicator and dashboard remain off, and the 22mm handlebar surface is clean and free of rust or grease.

2. Mount the JANX Single Throttle Assembly:

Slide the JANX Single Throttle onto the right side of the standard 22mm handlebar. Position the throttle so the twist grip operates smoothly without rubbing or binding against adjacent brake levers or switch housings, then tighten the underside clamp bolt securely.

Verification: Throttle housing is firmly locked on the handlebar and does not slip or rotate when twisted.

3. Route Wiring Harness to Controller:

Route the 3-pin wiring harness along the vehicle frame toward the main BLDC controller. Secure the harness using cable ties at strategic points, ensuring enough slack is left around the steering column for full handlebar movement.

Verification: Turning the handlebars completely to the left and right extreme positions does not stretch or bind the cable.

4. Connect 3-Pin Signal Terminal:

Plug the standard 3-pin connector directly into the matching throttle interface harness on your BLDC motor controller, confirming wire color alignment:

Red Wire: +5V Regulated Power Supply

Black Wire: Ground (GND)

Green Wire: Analog Signal Output (0.8V–4.2V)

Verification: Terminal plug is fully seated and latched without exposed pin contacts.

5. Power On & Verify Throttle Response:

Elevate the drive wheel safely off the ground using a center stand or support block. Reconnect the main battery, power on the vehicle switch, and gently twist the throttle grip to verify smooth motor acceleration and immediate response.

Verification: Motor accelerates proportionally as the grip is twisted and returns immediately to idle speed when released.

Care and maintenance

Regular Surface Cleaning: Keep the hand-twist grip clean by wiping it down regularly with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove accumulated grease, dirt, and road grime. Avoid using high-pressure water jets or abrasive chemicals around seam points and sensor housings.

Harness & Wiring Inspection: Periodically check the 3-pin wiring harness along its length for pinched, stretched, or frayed wires. Ensure cable ties hold the harness securely along the vehicle frame while retaining enough slack for full left-to-right handlebar rotation.

Mechanical & Spring Function: Test the internal mechanical return spring while the vehicle power is turned off. The twist grip should turn smoothly without dragging and snap back immediately to the zero-throttle idle position when released.

Connector Integrity: Inspect the standard 3-pin connector interface periodically for moisture ingress, corrosion, or loose wire terminals, ensuring a solid, clean signal connection to the motor controller.
