Suitable applications

Suitable Vehicle Types & Applications

  • Electric Bikes (E-Bikes): Ideal for commuting and city e-bikes requiring smooth, fatigue-free hand-twist acceleration control.
  • Electric Scooters: Excellent replacement or upgrade throttle for personal and commercial electric scooters.
  • Light Commercial & Cargo EVs: Reliable speed control input for light electric cargo bikes, delivery vehicles, and passenger tricycles.
  • Custom & DIY EV Conversions: Perfect fit for custom electric go-karts, mini-bikes, and experimental multi-voltage battery projects due to its extended 1.8-meter wiring harness.

System & Drivetrain Compatibility

  • Universal Voltage Support: Fully compatible with battery and controller platforms operating from 12V up to 72V DC.
  • Standard Handlebar Mounting: Universal fitment designed for standard 22mm (7/8-inch) outer diameter handlebars.
  • Universal Controller Interface: Direct plug-and-play operation with all standard BLDC motor controllers featuring a standard 3-pin analog Hall-effect input (0.8V–4.2V signal range).

How to use

1. Power Down Vehicle & Prepare Handlebar Area:

Turn off the vehicle ignition, trip the main circuit breaker, and completely disconnect the main battery pack. Remove any existing throttle assembly from the right handlebar, and thoroughly clean the exposed metal tube to remove grease, rust, and surface dirt.

Verification: The main vehicle instrument display remains completely dark, and the 22mm handlebar mounting surface is clean and smooth.

2. Mount the OKI Original ES Throttle Unit:

Slide the OKI ES throttle assembly onto the right side of the standard 22mm handlebar tube. Adjust the unit's positioning so the twist grip turns freely without rubbing against adjacent brake lever perches or switches, then firmly tighten the underside clamp screw.

Verification: The throttle body is securely locked to the handlebar and does not twist, slide, or slip when torque is applied.

3. Route the Extended Cable Harness:

Route the extended 1.8-meter cable harness along the vehicle frame toward the main BLDC motor controller housing. Fasten the cable along structural frame tubes using zip ties, leaving ample slack around the steering neck to allow smooth, unrestricted left-to-right handlebar turning.

Verification: Turning the handlebars completely to both lock positions does not pull, stretch, or bind the wiring harness.

4. Connect 3-Pin Throttle Interface Harness:

Connect the pre-terminated 3-pin plug into the corresponding throttle input receptacle on your 12V–72V motor controller, ensuring proper wire matching:

Red Wire: +5V Regulated Power Supply

Black Wire: Ground (GND)

Green Wire: Throttle Signal Output (0.8V–4.2V)

Verification: The 3-pin connector latches together tightly without exposed metal terminals or loose pins.

5. Power On & Test Acceleration Response:

Safely elevate the vehicle's drive wheel off the ground using a center stand or sturdy support block. Reconnect the battery, turn on vehicle power, and slowly twist the throttle grip to verify smooth motor acceleration and immediate response.

Verification: Drive wheel accelerates smoothly in direct proportion to twist grip displacement and returns instantly to zero speed when released.

Care and maintenance

The TROTL [OKI ORGNL ES] features a moisture- and dust-resistant housing engineered to protect internal components from everyday environmental exposure. To ensure reliable performance and maximize product lifespan, follow these routine maintenance practices:

  • Regular Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the rubberized twist grip and outer assembly using a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove accumulated dirt, oils, and perspiration. Avoid direct high-pressure water sprays or harsh solvent-based cleaners around the seamless joints and entry points.
  • Harness & Cable Inspection: Routinely check the extended 1.8-meter wiring harness along its routing path. Ensure zip ties remain secure and that the cable isn't pinched, stretched, or rubbed against raw metal frame edges when turning the handlebars through their full rotation.
  • Mechanical & Grip Checks: Periodically confirm that the throttle body remains firmly clamped to the 22mm handlebar. Test the internal spring return mechanism while the vehicle is powered off to verify that the twist grip snaps back instantly to the resting position when released.
  • Connector Integrity: Inspect the 3-pin connector periodically for corrosion, loose terminal pins, or moisture build-up, ensuring a tight, clean electrical connection to the main BLDC controller.
